Now a valued creative partner at The Wine Lab, his versatility, hunger to evolve, and natural brilliance have earned him a stellar reputation in the culinary and hospitality space as he continues to achieve more note-worthy feats.

Born and bred on a vineyard in the heart of the Winelands, in South Africa, Shane’s love for wines grew when he was selected as one of the top up and coming sommeliers and earned himself a seat on the Board of the South African Sommeliers Association. Working at various vineyards, cellars, and tasting rooms gave him a wholesome picture of the how, what, why, and wonders of wine beyond service. With an added advantage of gastronomy, he delights in creating such a magical fusion between wines and food. The chemistry and experimental spirit shared between Shane and the Executive Chef, Treasure, is what puts the word “lab” in The Wine Lab.
